First, thank you for being a paid subscriber. Your investment in my work helps keep me inspired. It’s been a busy couple of weeks with family and work, so I haven’t been able to do much writing. As each month ends, I like to tell you what I am working on to give you a heads-up before our end-of-the-month Office Lounge for paid subscribers. But since I’ve been slowed by the season, some of it is the same. A piece on immigration my editor at the New York Times wants to take a look at after the first of the year, a piece on the current state of the Iowa Democratic Party that maybe the Register will take--we’ll see. If not, I’ll publish it here. Still working on the piece on our fellow Trans citizens. Finally, we buried my gentle and kind Uncle Jerry on Wednesday. Parts of his service troubled me, and I’m doing my best to finish a write-up today or tomorrow.
