Oh, Bob! What a letter. I am touched beyond measure. Your essence, and presence are so powerful. Quiet, subtle and large. We first connected through the printed word, and now the soul. Thank you for sharing your experience!
You captured the essence of this event so eloquently. I can't imagine a better tribute to the event, everyone who participated and guided it, and to Julie. Our amazing Julie. Thank you for putting words to these feelings that so many of us share with you.
This September will be my first time to attend the Okoboji writer's retreat, and it is right in my backyard, and I wasn't aware that it was even happening here. Anyone coming like ice cream? Kate Shaw
The door out of your “self imposed cage” (and not knowing you were in one), was something I experienced also. It was almost surreal! Thanks for writing.
That was an uplifting and well written letter. I attended last year, had to miss this year, and look forward to event v3.0 next year. But I can certainly relate to your meaningful descriptions. I think this diverse assembly of writers and potential writers personifies what is good about life and what (could be) life in Iowa in the future. I call Julie the Queen of Iowa writers’ connections. She brings creative and engaged people together. Thank you for posting.
Thank you for your great letter and we are glad you enjoyed West Okoboji and the area. We hope you will come again. It was a great conference with many great people, songs, etc.

Amen, brother. Thank you, Bob. And thank you to Julie Gammack and everyone else who made this retreat such a success. What hard work, but what riches!

Oh yes they do. You will love it!
Such a lovely tribute to the event and organizer.

We have a 1967 ice cream truck, that we have operated in the Lakes area for nearly 40 years, can we bring it to the POTLUCK?
