My parents taught me that “all people are just people” and should be treated with dignity and respect. I have tried to teach that to my boys and to embrace the differences in people. When my oldest was in kindergarten he told me that he was glad that people were all different, otherwise the world would be gray. I hope people will read this and realize that we need the differences so our world does not become gray.
Mr. Leonard, I was just trying to cut down on the number of substacks I subscribe to. I am now adding and supporting Ms. Lupita. Least I can do. (I tutor a child on the spectrum and have an adult nephew and other relatives also on the spectrum --both used to be referred to as autistic).
I follow Emily on Substack and find her to be a kind and beautiful person. We've had some lovely communication between us. I urge people to follow her column and will send out a recommendation for just that from my column. Thank you for posting her letter.
As a Central grad I've read lots of stories about former students but I've completely missed this one. She sounds like a beautiful person who leads a very productive life. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for sharing part of Emily’s story. Wish there were more people like her in the world. I will definitely start reading her Substack posts.

I think you were a success teaching it to the boys. Good for you and your parents.
Thank you, Dr. Bob, for your support and encouragement of my artwork, writing, and international work. May peace be with us.
Thanks, Bob, for bringing her to my attention. Will subscribe.
Thank you so much, Mr. Holdefer, for your kind support.

Thank you, Helen. 💖 So nice to meet a fellow Central grad. 🌸
This is my brother Joe's daughter. Prayers please that all remain safe, for everyone in the Middle East.
Love you, Aunt Martha 🤍
