After stumbling for a few years, the Register now has a top notch software program for their eEdition, enabling access on desktops, laptops and smart phones from anywhere in the world. Peruse the whole paper in your PJs before 0600h; pick your own articles and save trees.
I worry about this in my coverage of higher education. It’s easier to believe that nothing is new under the sun and that hard truths are just sour grapes. I suppose we evolved to tune out whenever the alarms are too shrill for too long. It take discipline to keep listening and weighing evidence, especially when the evidence suggests a crisis.
Thank you, Dr. Leonard! America and Iowa need you desperately!
I hate to be reminded of the loss of the VIBRANT newspaper the REgister used
to be. I hate to be reminded of the loss of the opinion page, because that is
exactly how I have felt...like it" lost its soul." Yes I still subscribe and read it
but it is like watching someone with Alzheimer's slowly but steadily lose their
capacity to think and reason.
I still miss the "Big Peach."
Thanks Robert Leonard for withdrawing the curtain, standing behind the camera and securing a front row seat.

Good point. I often look online. However, I must enjoy the relative heft of the Sunday paper.

Thanks for informing us about "Reliable Sources." I wondered what had happened. I agree with you about the DSM Register...I also read it every day.
Thanks for this front row seat to today’s reality.
Thank you for subscribing.
