Thanks for the link. Excellent piece. Speaker Johnson has admitted that he won't reach an agreement on the border because Trump needs it as an election issue, and Trump has used the border to divide us since 2015. He had a bipartisan border bill on his desk and refused to sign it. I don't see it as a mundane issue. Again, thanks for the link. Poor choice of word. By 'mundane' I meant your concrete (pun) discussion was focused on the actual US border as it is presently being discussed in current affairs, rather than the more abstract way I was talking about.
