Mayor Pete is correct re: DEI but frankly, isn't life simply a lot more interesting when we interact with others who are different in some way from us? Who wants to be where everyone looks, acts, and sounds exactly like us? Pretty boring! Fish would never discover water and the same is true about humans. It is time for many to realize that simply having a woman, a "anything" in office does not mean that honesty and intelligence will prevail. Clearly the current Cabinet is an example of how "dumb as a box of rocks" is not confined to white men or any specific group. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Farmers and the country need better leadership than this.
Absolutely. Yesterday, I shared a draft post on an important topic that will appear soon. A middle-aged woman read it and pointed out maybe five things I missed from a woman's perspective. A teenaged girl, the daughter of a friend read it and found a couple more things I missed. Every time we reach out and ask the opinion of people different from us, we all are better. Thanks, Barbara.
Glad you attended, reacted, and reported. Meanwhile in Pella...apparently the Pella Historical Board is not allowing (or encouraging?) the Tulip Queen & Court to select and promote a bible verse to use in their many public appearances. The bible verse appears to be a recent "tradition" and the avoidance of continuing it in 2025 because the Board didn't want to offend anyone has prompted many reactions of "by them being inclusive, they are now excluding The Bible." Pete's perspective makes sense to me, but that's not how some/a lot of MAGA'ish people view it when being inclusive results in excluding everyone (to not offend anyone). This topic is now a small controversy in Pella. Again.
Thanks for the great reporting Dr. Bob. Her woke seed video just shows their disregard for so much, like you said throwing the people as well as the seeds in the trash. Her comment that this is what they're fighting in DC, can't they find something that really matters. This matters so they can split the people and nothing else. But what a waste of seeds too. Plant them, grow them, use them, oh their dangerous! The stupidity the reigns in Washington now is unbelievable. And Kudlows comments, how do you tell DEI tomatoes from non DEI tomatoes? I guess the answer is a DEI tomato scares the bejeebees out of those idiots. Keep on causing the good trouble.
Because the USDA and Food and Drug Administration SHARE the task of regulating the nation’s food supply, they have a mutual agreement of cooperation and coordination. Raw fruits and vegetables are regulated by the USDA but, once they’re sold, and eggs are out of the shell and used in products, for example, it’s the FDA’s responsibility. It’s confusing and what’s happening is even worse.
They’ve allowed dyes and undesirable stuff like undefined ,“natural additives” and other chemicals that are banned in other countries, but not in America to be sold in many everyday products here.— An egregious oversight by the FDA is its permission to add titanium oxide in foods to help enhance their appearance. Its use is so widespread — investigations reveal that it’s in more than 1,900 products.
In the European Union, titanium oxide has been banned, and their regulatory board states that it “can no longer be considered as safe when used as a food additive.”
My guess is that Brooke Rollins experience running Rick Perry’s Texas Public Policy Foundation ( a state based think tank) and Trumps assistant for Strategic Initiatives, hasn’t provided her many details or much knowledge about the way we let companies ultra process about 70% of the food we eat. Let alone what the stuff they’re putting in it. Any possibility you could ask her about the ingredients in what she’s feeding her kids, and ours?
I hope you were wearing your boots as you waded into that BS. I get triggered every time one of those cabinet hacks justify themselves by convincing themselves Dear Leader is behind whatever they do. He probably doesn’t even know who Rollins is. As ag sec, how can she worship a guy who just discovered the word groceries? Thanks for being there to push back!
Bob, I cannot top all the great positive comments that other have already made, but thank you for your great question, reporting of the scene, and analysis of the situation.
Great job Dr. Bob. I was amused at the three bobble heads all cinematized as if scripted. The Sec was taking a lot of credit for eggs crisis solution while the plan of action was already in place. Your question scared the heck out of her and she never gave a reasonable answer but was quick to end the meeting. I'm proud of you for asking the tough questions that provokes thought beyond their noses she was prepared for that and truly didn't know how to respond.
There certainly was a whole lot of BS being sling around! That whole business of bringing more industry back into this country to provide more jobs, well it sounds good, but it takes at least two years before anything happens and of course everything will be new, and what will constitute as "workers" will be automation and robots, not hammer college enrollees! Going on trade missions with tariffs hanging over your head is simply a vacation in a place you never dreamed of going too! Especially with no back ground in agriculture! That whole thing about "the last administration" was pure crap and especially how the "Grump" administration did so much better! I'm sorry, show me the numbers and show me where you got them from before you pronounce sentence! I'm quite sure there are people who can tell a whole different story, including those wo saw no chance the Trump Administration could fall into a recession and now are saying he has a 60% chance that will happen! Her talking points on bird flu and the price of eggs, I think the only way to deal with that is to call "Fowl"!
Thank you Robert! Again, your "Boots on the Ground" reporting and "comments in italic" shines a light on the scurrying cockroach propagandists. Keep on with the "clumsy" questions and folksy demeanor. It keeps the regime off balance! "god bless y'all"!
These words from your piece say it best: “American greatness is aspirational and not yet reality. We may never be great, but we can be better. We can only be better by recognizing past injustices and not allowing them to continue.” Thank you.
MAGA at its very best/worst, these official maga lying interviews are ridiculous...
Sounds like, in honor of the agricultural community, she delivered plenty of bovine biosolids. Hope y'all feel properly fertilized :D

The members of this administration, from top to bottom, seem to be professional bullshitters. More's the pity.
Bravo! We are so incredibly lucky to have your reporting skills, energy, courage, brilliant mind, and values!
👏👏👏

Thanks David. I saw the Facebook post, and it appears one person considers herself the hand of God on earth.
PEte's quote sums it up. Thanks for recording her little talk on "seeds" etc. so we hear straight from the horse's mouth.
from many of us, you are our eyes and ears.. Thanks so much. Bob.

Count on it, Keith. Thank you.

Great points. I wish I could have asked her this…

I despise her SO much! She's dumb as the day is long.
